The prophet Jeremiah initially rejected God's invitation to serve and said to the Lord, I am too young. I don't know how to speak. God said to Jeremiah, "Today I appoint you over nations and over kingdoms, to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to demolish, to build and to plant." (Jr 1:10) Jeremiah then accepted. When the prophet Isaiah heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" Isaiah responded, "Here I am, send me!"
