St. Helena Parish has grown from a small group of Catholics celebrating the Mass with a Franciscan missionary in a tin shack in the summer of 1930. The tin shack has been replaced with a church and four adjacent buildings. The parish is now one of two Catholic churches in Hobbs in southeastern New Mexico and serves over 1600 households. St. Helena School has preschool through sixth grades and is fully accredited. |
