St. Helena Parish has grown from a small group of Catholics celebrating the Mass with a Franciscan missionary in a tin shack during the summer of 1930. The parish is now one of two Catholic parishes in Hobbs, located in southeastern New Mexico, and serves over 1600 households.

St. Helena School is fully accredited, and provides education to preschool through sixth grade students.
